Fringerprint Friday

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

The photo above shows a Mama bird that made her home where she could find one. I can relate to this Mama bird and probably take lessons from her! See, we are smack right in the middle of moving and the truck is scheduled to arrive July, 17th. I am packing up all my cherished things, my children's lovey things which will be taken to a storage facility. Mr. R. and I have decided to stay with my Mother-in-law until we can find jobs, get caught up, and find our next home.

Let me preface this by saying how hard this is for me! Now mind you, my Mother-in-law is the most gracious person I have ever met and here she is opening her home to our family. She is even willing to take the cat! But for me, privacy is a sacred thing. It's my thing, ya know? SO I am going to take a deep breath and make this my home just like Mama Bird did. I am going to accept my Mother-in-law's love and trust that everything is going to be alright.

So if I come here complaining of how rough I have it, please tell me to take a deep breath and use my shield of faith.

Once again, I want to say thank you to Beki for hosting this Fingerprint Friday. I have noticed that other blogs have these types of day events, but I think Beki's is special. I haven't been on much to participate or even comment on others Fingerprint Fridays and for that I apologize. Once we get settled, I promise I will be a better blogger!

Tomorrow is my son's tenth birthday. What a more appropriate Fingerprint Friday than the birth of my son, Brennan. He's a clever kid who loves the "Wimpy Kid Diary" book series and performing in his musical theatre class at school. He loves the beach (see the above picture) and can swim in the pool all day long.

He's a wonderful big brother who loves to scare his younger brother and adores his baby sister. He is a gift that was given to me to take care of.

Thank you for this wonderful gift!

Sailing an Unknown Ocean?

I came across these prints on Etsy and absolutely had to share them!

These drawings are so beautiful and very telling...

Waiting..

An Ocean Between...

HOUSE By The Sea...

Your Tales Are Mine...

I don't know what's up with me and ocean themes lately, maybe it's the mystery involved in my future with the move. What house will I bring my children too? What job will I be doing? Will I attempt to go to school to be a nurse with everything changing around me? Can I let go, really let go?

AND

There Used to Be a Girl...

There is a poem that goes with above print:

"There used to be a girl who never stood a chance, then she heard the music and all she did was dance"

All of these feel so familiar - this is who I see in the mirror when I wake up every morning.

All of the drawings are hand painted by Catherine Campbell and you can find these prints and much more at MyFolkLover.etsy.com

Lewa Designs & More!

I found this fabulous give-a-away! You have to check it out!

The background story is about an elementary teacher that has her first baby and decides to stay home. I would like to applaud her in doing so as I am a stay-at-home Mom myself. She started a business that features vinyl wall art in which she has designed the art herself. How awesome is that?

Here is some of her work:

I think you can guess which one I love the most for myself...the "Tree in the Wind" decal.

The flowers are scrumptious for Skylar's room! It is really hard to pick! Find the decal you love at LewaDesigns.com Also check out her sidebar ad...very clever!

Fingerprint Friday

(Picture taken off the web)
There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece

Well, the time has come to move on from what's been our home for the last 23 years. Move to a new place where family helps one another, there's Sunday dinners, and even one or two date nights are thrown in here or there. Doesn't that sound seraphic?

Yes, my in laws live in another state and they are willing to help us with the little ones, offer those Sunday dinners, and share their love. We are moving where we can build new lives and to put it plainly, start over. I am ever thankful that we have this opportunity to reclaim what we have lost.

Is the grass greener to where we are going? Does the sun shine brighter in this new place?

I don't know the answers to these questions, but I do know that to keep growing as a person and parent, to keep my marriage as one solid foundation, to keep teaching our children values and morals, we need to take the lead and find the right place for our family. I'm trusting my faith in God to lead me in the direction that we as a family need to go. I'm building and protecting my shield of armor.

This Fingerprint Friday is not only about doing the right thing, but also making a decision. Someone once told me that if YOU don't make decisions for yourself, then they will be made for you. We have made our decision. And peace has followed.

Time To Move On

Well, it's official. My website is down and out. Just thought I would announce that. Time to sail onto a new ocean, find a new lake to canoe in, or you can find me in a new corner of the world at MyTurtleBaby.etsy.com.

I guess, in the end it all works out.

See the lavender flowers taking a peek at us? This is a picture from the tangle of weeds in my front yard that used to be rows of glorious lavender flowers. We purposely lined them up along the curve of the driveway so when a person pulled up to our home they would be met with these beauties. They are very delicate and graceful flowers.

Did you see the words "used to be"? The flowers were another fatality during the winter frost last January and we never replanted them due to our crazy financial cosmos. I thought they were gone forever like a lot of stuff around me. But then the other day, these two flowers popped out as if saying "I'm here, I'm here!" Logically, I know they are just two little flowers that made their way through the chaos of weeds. No big deal, right?

But to me, they represent more than two little flowers that survived the winter frost, they represent a chance. A chance that things will bloom again. That things will be good again. That we need to have trust and faith.

I know, just flowers, right?
